Sonia performed as a beachgoer in Sun & Sea, the acclaimed opera centered on climate change, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Following the production, she participated in a contact improvisation workshop created by the Brooklyn-based experimental theater collective The Million Underscores.
The movement practices and collaborative approaches she encountered through these experiences have informed her creative work, including Snake · Skin and other projects that blend performance, poetry, film, and embodied storytelling.
